Campaign Reform

campaign-reformI support the following propositions:

  • To the fullest extent possible, we need to take money out of campaigns and eliminate it as a means of influencing decisions made by government officials.
  • The internet provides us with opportunities to convey vital information to the public in a very inexpensive manner.  We should utilize it primarily for that purpose rather than as a fund-raising device.
  • Blogs allow us to have dialogue between candidates and constituents.  Citizens deserve more than form-letter responses along with ongoing requests to donate.
  • We need to elevate our political conversation; get away from slogans and oversimplifications and discuss the complex problems that face us and our options for possible solutions.

Congratulations on the big vote total. I glad to see that Camaign Reform is a lead issue in your campaign. Several thoughts or “sell lines.”

Right now, those who have big money GET influence and those who don’t have big mone
    GET left out.

Getting money out of elections is not possible and not a good idea. Getting “BIG Money” out of elections is a good thing.

A good question for your readers is “who should own our democratic process.” Special interests, wealthy individuals, corporations, unions….no. Voters should own the process. You may or may not want to drop the other shoe….the only way for that to happen is for voters to pay for it.

I am glad to help with this issue. Let me know. I am willing to pay 10.10 for the privilege.
